Beniduthsing Ramjeeawon, of Fulready Road, Leyton, has been charged with possession of a Class B drug, driving while under the influence of alcohol, and failing to stop following a crash in Lea Bridge Road.
Police were called to the road at around 2.50am on Saturday (March 22) after a man in his 20s was hit by a car.
The car later crashed and its driver was arrested at the scene.

A spokesperson for the Met Police has confirmed that the pedestrian was taken to hospital after the incident, but his injuries have been assessed as “non-life-threatening or life-changing”.
The spokesperson said: “Police were called to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Lea Bridge Road at 2.50am on Saturday, March 22.
“The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with injuries which have since been assessed as non-life-threatening or life-changing.
“The car later crashed and a man, the driver, was arrested at the scene.
“Beniduthsing Ramjeeawon, 38, of Fulready Road, Leyton, was later charged with possession of a Class B drug, driving while under the influence of alcohol, and failing to stop.
“He has been bailed and is due to appear before Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 7 April.”
