The Metropolitan Police Service was out conducting searches connected to a missing person this morning (October 18) in Launders Lane and surrounding roads.
The force was contacted about the case by Essex Police colleagues on October 16, before it was then handed over to them on October 17.
At around 8.20am, officers were seen conducting their search in Launders Lane.
Two police vans were parked across the entrance to the road from New Road, with a road closure sign in place.
A cordon was erected encompassing a piece of land that separates the two roads, made up of grass and shrubs.
Two police cars were parked in a nearby carpark and a group of plain clothed officers were seen on aerial footage as having gathered in Launders Lane.

The Metropolitan Police has now confirmed that whilst conducting searches, the body of a man was discovered.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and has yet to be identified.
The road has been closed in both directions between Lambs Lane and Wennington Road in light of the discovery.
