Environmental health officers from the area have been busy this fortnight visiting businesses across the region to see if they are meeting hygiene requirements.
Based on guidelines set by the Food Standards Agency, inspectors look to see how clean the facilities are; what food safety management procedures are in place and how hygienic food handling is.
Ratings are then dished out from five to zero — with the higher score the better the result.
It’s good news for Havering’s foodies as all the latest inspections resulted in the highest possible score of 5. They were:
Cafe with a Purpose at Springfield Gardens, Upminster, rated 5 on March 11
Kebabish Extra at 80 Rainham Road, Rainham, rated 5 on March 11
Locavore Foods Ltd, rated 5 on March 11
Mixala, rated 5 on March 11
Olive Dining Ltd at Settle Road, Romford, rated 5 on March 7
St Marys Hare Park After School Club at South Drive, Romford, rated 5 on March 10
Taste Haven at 10 Tadworth Parade, Hornchurch, rated 5 on March 6
The Aspen Tree at 73 Gobions Avenue, Romford, rated 5 on March 10
Businesses may have been reinspected since and this will be reflected in our next round-up.
