The one vehicle crash happened soon before 9am today (October 14) on the A127 near Laindon.
One person reported on social media that the car was towing a 4×4 at the time of the collision which overturned.
The road is closed eastbound at the junction of the A176 while the road is cleared.
There have been no injuries or arrests following the crash and officers will be at the site until the road is cleared.
Traffic monitoring software reports that traffic is now clearing on the road.
