The Metropolitan Police was alerted to the reports at 3.16pm on August 14.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at the junction of Brayards Road and Kirkwood Road, where they conducted a search of the area.
No injuries were reported and there have no arrests have been made at this stage.
Enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson for the Met said: “Police were called at 15:16hrs on Thursday, 14 August to reports of gunshots heard and a firearm seen in Peckham.
“Officers, including firearms officers, attended the scene at the junction of Brayards Rd with Kirkwood Road and searched the area.
“No injuries were reported.

“No arrests have as yet been made and enquiries continue.”
