Police were called to the crash on Strand outside the Aldwych university campus soon before midday on March 18.
Officers arrived with paramedics but Aalia Mahomed, a 20-year-old student at the university, died at the scene.
Two more pedestrians, a woman and a man both in their 20s, were taken to hospital with serious injuries and have since been discharged.
The driver of the van was arrested at the scene.
On December 1, Christopher Jackson, 27 of Walton Road, Southampton was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on January 5.
