It follows reports of an incident in King Street at 2.02pm on December 16.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were dispatched to the scene where a man was found suffering serious injuries to his hand.
It is believed that the victim was approached by a man who assaulted him with a machete after getting out of a grey Fiat Abarth.
The victim was taken to hospital and has since been released.
Investigators have released the photo of a man they wish to speak to in connection to the incident.
