Police were called to Kilburn High Road station soon after midnight today (July 17).
Officers arrived with paramedics but a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing with the station closed into the morning for a police investigation.
Train lines between London Euston and Watford were closed as a result.
This affected Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, London Overground and Southern trains.
Kilburn High Road station has since reopened.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called at around 12.20am today (17 July) to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Kilburn High Road railway station.
“Officers responded with paramedics, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
