Hoardings have gone up at the large store front on Muswell Hill Broadway just weeks after the French chain bistro closed its doors.
Kervan Sofrasi opened in Hertford Road, Edmonton, 20 years ago and has since branched out, with outlets in Wood Green, Southgate, and Edmonton.
The restaurant is due to open in late October or early November on the site vacated by Cote Brasserie in July. A spokesperson said they hoped to be open in late October or early November.
They said: “We’re very excited to be opening in Muswell Hill. We are a family-run restaurant best known for our sharing platters and serpme breakfast.
“The site will be our fifth in North London, having opened the first branch in Edmonton 20 years ago.
“We’ll be going through a full refurb and plan to open our doors late October/early November.
“We’re looking forward to bringing new flavours and being part of the community!”
Residents expressed surprise when the French brasserie chain closed in late July amid reports that owners Partners Group were seeking new investors with some of their less profitable restaurants set for closure.
A spokesperson told the Ham&High: “Since February 2025, we have been in legal discussions to assign the lease to another operator, and this process is ongoing.
“While this is not a decision we have taken lightly, it reflects our commitment to ensuring every Côte location is positioned for future growth and sustainability.
“We would like to sincerely thank our Muswell Hill team for their hard work and dedication, and our guests for their continued support over the years.”
