Just off the M25, Polhill Garden Centre is known as Kent’s largest centre, featuring everything from indoor and outdoor plants, homeware and pet care, as well as an on-site restaurant.
The garden centre first began in the 1960s, started by father and son duo Jim and David Novell, and still features the wooden windmill on the site when the garden centre first opened.

Visitors can also shop for local produce and have a meal or afternoon tea at the restaurant, and for the children you can also pay £1 to feed the fish if you’re looking for a way to keep the children entertained during a visit.
Located a short drive from Polhill, Coolings in Sevenoaks first began in Chislehurst in 1913 before the first garden centre was opened in the 1950s.
This popular garden centre regularly hosts events like antique and craft markets, as well as their annual Coolings in Bloom gardening competition where keen gardeners can enter for a chance to win across eight different categories.
