Emergency services, including police and the London Ambulance Service, were called to Walworth Road at 11.30am on Saturday (January 25).
A corrosive liquid is a substance capable of causing severe damage to living tissue, metals, or other materials upon contact.
Safety measures, including cordons and road closures, were implemented as officers and the London Fire Brigade managed the scene.
The woman was taken to the hospital by paramedics, where her condition has been confirmed as stable.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this stage.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police service said: “Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 11.30am to reports of a woman having drunk a suspected corrosive liquid at an address in Walworth Road, Kennington.
“Safety procedures and cordons, as well as road closures, were established while specialist officers and LFB dealt with the incident.
“The woman was taken to a hospital by LAS where her condition is stable.
“Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
“There have been no arrests.”
