On July 24, two planning applications were submitted to Havering Council for the replacement of a shop front, new signage and a new illuminated fascia sign for John Burke Associates, a 42-year-old chartered surveyors.
The firm’s office is at 117 Belgrave Avenue.
Director Alan Burke and managing director Stephen Burke are the applicants.

If approved, new doors will also be fitted providing “low-level disability thresholds” according to plans.

A John Burke Associates spokesperson said: “This is a like a visual timeline of our shopfront from its original 1990s appearance to its contemporary redesign showcasing how John Burke Associates has grown while staying rooted in local character and preserving the unique charm that residents and visitors value.”

The enlarged conference room will also have better accessibility and “no significant impact” will be had on adjoining buildings according to the planning documents.
The row of shops has a “wide range of shop front styles and there are different graphics and signage to each of the shops” and the “two pallisters which help define the different shops will be retained.”
Established in 1982, the firm operates nationally in the private, commercial and public sectors, with “extensive knowledge spanning across all sectors of the construction industry” according to its website.
A decision is expected to be made on the plans by September 25.
