The shop in Beckton, which opened on Thursday, July 10, combines three former units to double its previous floor space and offer a wider selection of sportswear and fashion.
James Air, director and head of group acquisitions at JD, said: “We are pleased to open our brand-new larger format store at Gallions Reach.
“This larger space will offer a far superior product range and demonstrates our continued commitment to this strong retail destination.”
The redesigned store features dedicated zones for sportswear, outdoor clothing, fashion, and street style.
The layout includes clearly defined sections for womenswear, menswear, and childrenswear, along with in-store click-and-collect services.
Andy Pay, centre manager, said: “JD’s new store is fantastic news for Gallions Reach.
“Alongside recent arrivals like Matalan and Greggs, it highlights the park’s growing appeal and reinforces our position as a leading retail and leisure destination for our catchment.”
The store opening is part of broader improvements at Gallions Reach, including upgraded customer facilities and a refurbishment of the toilet areas with energy-efficient fittings.
New seating has also been added to the promotions and events space, and work is underway to install EV charging stations, expected to be operational after the summer.
