Jack The Chipper, located in Greenwich, was broken into at around 3am on Saturday, January 3, in what the owner says is the third time the business has been targeted.
CCTV footage shared with News Shopper appears to show a person inside the shop, leaning over the counter area and taking money from the cash desk.
Owner Mehmet Cafer said the incident has added further strain to an already difficult period for the business, which has been impacted by repeated roadworks and falling footfall.
He told the News Shopper: “Someone broke into the shop at 3am on Saturday, January 3.
“He came in, kicked the door and broke the door then left quickly.

“After that he came back after two minutes. and went inside, very professional in hand gloves.
“He opened the tills and took all the money.”
Mehmet said he was alerted several hours later by staff arriving to open the shop for the day.
He added: “The fishmen came and called me at 7am and said someone broke in your shop.”
He explained that while cash was taken, the biggest impact has been the damage left behind, including a broken door, glass and locks, which he says will cost thousands to repair.
Mehmet said: “This is the third time it has happened.
“It’s going to cost over £2,000 for the glass and the lock and £220 from the change.”
The owner said the incident comes at a time when the business is already struggling financially which he thinks is due to repeated roadworks nearby.
Mehmet said: “We are struggling, it is very hard to be in Greenwich.”

Despite the setback, Mehmet said the shop has remained open and he continues to work from the premises.
He added: “We’ve been open for five years.
“It’s open now and I work from the shop.
“It’s a very popular shop, one of the best in the UK.
“We’ve won awards with different branches, but it was on the news.”
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the break-in has been reported and said enquiries are ongoing.
