Police were called at around 12.45pm on Monday (December 1) to Wray Crescent park.
Officers arrived with paramedics but a 49-year-old man was declared dead at the scene.
The death is being treated by police as “unexpected, but not suspicious”.
Islington Council confirmed that there is no risk to the public, with councillor Angelo Weekes adding that his thoughts were with all those affected by the incident.
A Met spokesperson said: “On Monday, 1 December at 12:46hrs police were called to reports of an unresponsive man in Wray Crescent Park, Islington.
“Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and a 49-year-old man was sadly declared dead at the scene. His family have been informed.
“His death is being treated as unexpected, but not suspicious.”
