Muhammad Taha, from Newham, died on June 13 at Newham Hospital.
An inquest into his death was opened at East London Coroner’s Court, Walthamstow, on Tuesday, October 14.
Senior coroner Graeme Irvine said Muhammad had been diagnosed with a rare cardiac condition and had been treated using a variety of medication, including medication intended to regulate his heartbeat.

Muhammad was admitted to hospital unwell before his death and tests revealed that his symptoms seemed to be a result of a “higher-than-normal” amount of one of his prescription medications, Mr Irvine said.
A post-mortem examination gave his immediate cause of death as prescription drug toxicity with dilated cardiomyopathy given as a contributing condition.
“It seems to me that as a prescription medication played a role in the death of Muhammad it is proper that I open an inquest,” Mr Irvine said.
