Newham Council’s licensing sub-committee are set to review a premises licence application for Impression Events Venue at its meeting on Wednesday (November 19) after objections from 11 people.
Council documents reveal that the previous licence for the venue in Milner Road lapsed in February 2017 after licence holder Fairsure Ltd was dissolved.
However, despite Impression Events being informed of this in September 2017, it appears the venue has continued to operate without a valid premises licence since then.

Photos and videos submitted alongside residents’ objections appear to show smoke flares being set off outside the building, car engines revving and limousines blocking the street.
Among the 11 objections is a representation from one resident, who claims that the venue has been a “constant anti-social premise for years” – causing “havoc” for the community.
She claims there have been “numerous arguments” between residents and guests of Impressions due to the noise, smoke bombs and blocking of roads, leading to the “threatening of residents”.
A pensioner said in her objection that she has been left “trembling” after fireworks were reportedly set off at the premises, with the disturbances now affecting her mental health.
The woman, in her eighties, said: “I have even contemplated moving, to an area where I do not know anybody and will lose my support network of friends because of this club.
“I cannot have my windows open in case there is a party in the club as all the smoke bomb fumes come in my windows and affects my breathing.
“This club has an awful affect (sic) on our community.
“It does not benefit any of the residents at all, instead just makes our area an awful place to live.
“I do not just want to oppose their license, I want this club shut down once and for all.”
Other objections said that Impressions backs onto a primary school and is close to a community playground, which it was claimed is sometimes left with “dangerous fireworks debris” in it.
Several objectors also mentioned “dangerous” driving and “speeding” down Milner Road – which has a 20 mph speed limit – while one claimed their car has been “damaged several times” while parked outside their home by vehicles arriving at the venue.

Mayen Uddin, manager of Impressions Events Venue, said in a statement responding to residents’ concerns that the premises has “always maintained discipline and stayed within the law”.
He mentioned two occasions where he received complaints about fireworks coming from the venue, but these were set off from “someone in the neighbourhood”.
The statement said: “The main aims and objectives of Impression Events Venue is to serve the local and the wider community.
“We are doing everything we can within our capacity to work with our residence [sic] and we will continue to do so in the future.”
When this paper contacted the venue, Mr Uddin declined to comment further.
Companies House states that Impressions Events Venue Ltd, registered to 14 Milner Road, was dissolved in July 2013.
The applicant for the new licence is listed as Cityhights Ltd.
