The incident happened near King George Hospital in Barley Lane just before 3.10am today (January 14).
Ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene, alongside an advanced paramedic, incident response officer, and a paramedic in a first response car.
The first of the emergency responders arrived in less than four minutes of the call coming in.
A male patient was located and was taken to hospital as a priority.
The Metropolitan Police has since confirmed that a man has since died.
A file will be prepared for the coroner.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.08am today (14 January) to reports of a road traffic collision on Barley Lane, Ilford.
“We sent resources including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.
“Our first paramedic arrived on scene in less than four minutes.
“We treated a man at the scene and took them to hospital as a priority.”
