Iceland, in Market Place, has again been spotted on property website Rightmove – but the listing is now quoting a lower price.
The building which houses the store was previously listed for offers in excess of £800,000, but this has been reduced to £775,000.
When Iceland was first spotted on Rightmove in December 2024, a spokesperson for the supermarket chain told the Recorder that the Market Place store is not closing, but the unit is up for sale.
The property brochure written by estate agent Harston & Co also confirms that the building is still let to Iceland Foods on a five-year lease, which started in September 2024.
It says the supermarket pays £67,500 in rent per year – equal to £9.66 in rent per square foot.

Harston & Co writes in the brochure that the unit is a “prime retail investment” which fronts onto the “historic” Romford Market.
The estate agent adds that Romford town centre has “a number of big-name tenants”, such as Marks and Spencer, Primark and TK Maxx.
Iceland has an internal floor area of almost 7,000 square feet and forms part of a mixed-use building built between 2007 and 2008.
