Iceland, in Brentwood High Street, will temporarily shut between Saturday, January 24 and Thursday, February 5 to allow for renovations.
The refurbishment aims to give customers an improved shopping experience, and will include self-checkout tills, a new shopfront and a “fresh look” for the store as a whole.
An Iceland Foods spokesperson said: “We can confirm that the Iceland Foods store on the High Street in Brentwood will be closing temporarily on Saturday 24th January for a refurbishment.
“The store will reopen on Thursday 5th February with a fresh look, including self checkouts and a brand new shopfront.”
Brentwood Connected, the business improvement district (BID) for the borough, said it was “thrilled” to see the supermarket chain making an investment in the town’s branch.
Brentwood Connected BID manager Sarah Walmsley said: “We are thrilled to see Iceland making a significant investment in our Brentwood store, giving customers an improved shopping experience and the dedicated staff a bigger, better space in which to work.
“It’s always a good sign when one of our high street’s big nationals makes the decision to invest here.
“It shows everyone that Brentwood is a desirable place to live, work and do business.”
In a post on Facebook, the BID added that there will be “special offers” for customers when the store reopens.
Brentwood Iceland will close at 4pm on January 24 and reopen at 8am on February 5.
