American singer songwriter and keyboardist Stevie Wonder brings his Love Light & Song tour to the London park on Saturday, July 12.
Way back at the age of 12 as a young performer from Michigan, he became the youngest recording artist to notch up a number 1 single with Fingertips Part 2.
In the intervening years he has entertained the world with 49 top 40 singles and 100 million record sales, which have earned him 25 Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe and an Oscar for I Just Called to Say I Love You.
Not only has he been awarded a lifetime achievement award at the Grammys and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but his iconic album, Songs In The Key of Life, is archived in the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress, for its cultural, historic and aesthetic significance.
It will be the third time he has played Hyde Park, and audiences are in for a treat, with the 74-year-old’s recent playlists notching up more than 30 songs including You Are The Sunshine of My Life, My Cherie Amour, Signed Sealed Delivered I’m Yours, Superstition, and Isn’t She Lovely – alongside several epic covers.
Tickets for Stevie Wonder’s BST Hyde Park gig go on general sale at 10am on March 21 at www.bst-hydepark.com with further support acts to be announced.
The news completes the summer line up for the concert series with previously announced headliners for 2025 including; Olivia Rodrigo (June 27), Zach Bryan (June 28 & 29), Noah Kahan (July 4), Sabrina Carpenter (July 5 & 6) Neil Young with Cat Stevens and Van Morrison (July 11), and Jeff Lynne’s ELO (July 13).
