A Freedom of Information (FOI) request submitted by the Recorder to the council has revealed the amount of money made through parking fees across the past three years.
From 2022-2025, Havering Council revealed it has made £3,984,324 from council-owned car parks.
This data relates to income from car parking payments by machine and payments by phone.
In the most recent data for the 2024/25 year, Havering Council made £1,538,227 through its car parks.
The highest earning car park according to the data was Oldchurch Rise in Romford which registered £193,247 across this period.
The second most money was brought in by Slaney Road car park in Romford – £183,766.
Next in the list were facilities at Romford Market which made £168,350, Fentiman Way in Hornchurch which registered £166,037 and Wilson Close in Upminster which made £154,331.

Bringing in £152,232, the facility at Slaney Road was the highest earning car park in this period.
Next in the list was Wilson Close which made £142,964 followed closely by Fentiman Way which made £141,90.
The fourth and fifth top earners were Romford Market car park which brought in £132,410 and Oldchurch Rise which made £132,268.
In the earliest provided year – 2022/23 – the council made £1,196,935.
According to the data, the car park at Wilson Close brought in the most income with £177,625 for this period.
The next top earning car parks were Oldchurch Rise which brought in £144,398, Fentiman Way with £129,890, Romford Market which made £128,709 and Slaney Road with £114,655.
A spokesperson for Havering Council said: “Council-owned car parks play a role in supporting our town and local centres, particularly for those who rely on their cars or have limited access to public transport, and we remain committed to ensuring our car parks remain accessible and convenient for all users.
“This includes offering a free half-hour parking session in all our car parks and on street parking locations, with the exception of those located in Romford, and freezing our prices to the 2024/2025 levels for the 2025/2026 period.
“We appreciate the community’s understanding and support as we strive to provide effective and efficient parking solutions for all our residents and visitors.”
