The force has released figures showing the number of offences across the borough in the 12 months since February 2024.
There was a total of 32,933 crimes across Islington, with the top two – theft and violence against a person – accounting form more than half of the total.
Top of the table with 13,293 offences was theft – which includes pickpocketing and shoplifting – amounting to 40.36 per cent of the total.
Second, violence against the person, saw 7,310 crimes logged – 22.20pc of the total.
There were 2,709 vehicle offences logged – 8.23pc of crimes – and public order offences with 2,066 recorded, 6.27% of crimes.
There were 1,898 burglaries reported, which made up 5.76pc of the overall crimes.
Records showed 1,808 cases of arson and criminal damage, accounting for 5.49pc of all crimes in the year.
A total of 1,318 robberies were recorded and 1,305 drug offences were logged.
There were 785 sex offences across the borough, including rape, harassment, malicious communication, stalking, strangulation, making threats to kill and breach of a sexual notification orders.
Arrests in January followed a 16-day operation between November 25 and December 12, in which officers arrested 77 men on suspicion of crimes including rape and attempted murder.
There were 275 “miscellaneous” crimes, which could include engaging in activities which suggest the intent to commit a crime, such as unlawfully entering a house, or possessing picklock keys.
Scotland Yard took possession of 159 weapons, there were four cases of fraud and three offences recorded by The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau.
A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: “A commitment to neighbourhood policing is central to our delivery of a New Met for London.
“We are working with our communities to ensure that crime is reported, victims are supported and those responsible for committing crime are brought to justice.
“We also continue to use data and technology, such as phone tracking and surveillance techniques, to target offenders and investigate crimes that impact those living and working in London.
“Violence against women and girls is a particular area of focus, and it is vital that victims of domestic violence and harassment seek support and report criminal offences to police.”
The force said it has also launched a targeted operation across London at tackling shoplifting.
