An inquest into her death was opened at East London Coroner’s Court, Walthamstow, on Thursday, August 28.
Coroner’s officer Jean Smyth said Mrs Maggs had been receiving palliative end of life care.
Mrs Maggs, who was born in East Ham, is survived by her husband.
A post-mortem gave her cause of death as locally invasive adenocarcinoma of the right lung.
“Concerns were raised by the family of a misdiagnosis of cancer,” Mrs Smyth said.
She asked for Mrs Maggs’ family to provide background information about her as well as any concerns they have about the healthcare she received.
Mrs Persaud also asked for the final post-mortem report and GP records.
The coroner said that if the NHS trust, which wasn’t named in court, is investigating the healthcare Mrs Maggs received then she will also need a copy of that report as well as supporting documents.
A provisional date for the full inquest was given as March 4, 2026.
