Honest Burgers has announced it will open a new restaurant along The Broadway on Sunday, October 26.
This is one of 12 new locations to be opened across the country by the end of the year, bringing its number of branches up to 51.
Tom Barton, co-founder of Honest Burgers, said: “When we started Honest back in Brixton, we wanted to do one thing really well: serve simple, quality British burgers and chips that people would love.
“We’re proud to be opening another restaurant in south London, not too far from where we began, and we’re excited to welcome the Wimbledon community through the doors.”
The new Wimbledon restaurant will seat 40 diners and will feature the brand’s signature British racing green decor, hand-written chalkboards, and exposed brickwork.
Honest Burgers, which started out at a food festival in 2009, says it prides itself on quality, making its burgers from scratch in its own butchery with British beef, served with its homemade rosemary-salted chips.
It promises a “taster of what Honest has to offer” with community activity to celebrate the Wimbledon restaurant opening.
The menu in its Wimbledon restaurant will include the first burger on its menu, the OG, which has been served since 2011, as well as a choice of Beyond meat burgers (vegan), fried chicken, smashed burgers, and a homemade vegetarian fritter.
It will feature a selection of beers from a local brewery, and will soon launch its own Wimbledon local burger, which is currently in development with the team.
This is part of Honest Burgers’ plans for growth, with new locations also planned for London, Bristol, Leamington Spa, and Norwich.
The expansion follows the launch of the first Honest Smash + Grab site in Liverpool Street last year, and the launch of a new digital rewards app, Honest Insiders, which has been downloaded more than 70,000 times.
Honest Burgers in Wimbledon, at 88 The Broadway, will be open from 11.30am every day.
