Police were called to Homerton Road just after 9.15pm yesterday evening (May 9).
A 22-year-old man was treated at the scene for gunshot injuries by London Ambulance Service (LAS).
He was rushed to hospital where his injuries were assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.
A police investigation has been launched, but no arrests have been made.
