The area outside Capital City College’s Holloway centre was cordoned off after the attack around 1.30pm on Wednesday (April 2).
The emergency attended and two 17-year-old boys were hospitalised with stab wounds that are not life-threatening.
The school has confirmed one of the victims was a student who was attacked by unidentified non-student.
There have been no arrests but police enquiries continue with the aid of the school.
The scene of the attack – the junction of Camden Road and Caledonian Road just off Holloway Road – remained closed until the next morning.
A college spokesperson added that their priority is the “safety and well-being of all students and staff”.
They said: “We are aware of an incident that took place on Wednesday 2nd April outside our Holloway centre.
“Emergency services were contacted following reports of an attack on one of our learners by an unidentified individual.
“One of our learners was injured and was taken to hospital.
“The matter is currently being investigated by the police, and we are fully cooperating with their enquiries.
“Our priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students and staff, and we are providing support to anyone affected.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “An investigation has been launched after two teenage boys were stabbed outside an address in Camden Road, Islington at 13:33hrs on Tuesday, 2 April.
“The boys – both aged 17 – were treated at the scene and taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
“They remain there for treatment and we await an update on injuries and condition.
“No arrests have been made at this stage. Camden Road is closed – please avoid the area to minimise congestion.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.30pm today (2 April) to reports of a stabbing on Caledonian Road, Islington.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and a paramedic from our tactical response unit.
“Our first paramedic arrived on scene in five minutes.
“We treated two people at the scene. We took one patient to a major trauma centre and the other patient to a local hospital as a priority.”
