There were fears that a firearm had been spotted within Highgate Wood today (May 2).
Police, including armed officers, attended the scene at 4.12pm.
The National Police Air Service were also helping with the search of a possible gun, with a police helicopter sweeping the area.
However, after a while officers established that there was no threat and the incident was stood down.
As a result, no arrests or injuries have been reported.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “At 4.12pm on Friday (May 2) police responded to a reported sighting of a firearm near Highgate Wood.
“Police officers attended alongside colleagues from the NPAS.
“It was established there was no threat and officers were stood down. There were no injuries or arrests.”
