The upward escalator that carries people from Highgate station ticket hall to street level is open once again.
While repairs were carried out, passengers had been left to walk up at least 16 steps to exit the station since last October.
Earlier this year, Liberal Democrat councillor Scott Emery said the delay in fixing the escalator had made it “almost impossible” for elderly people to get around.
TfL was also criticised after pushing back an initial date for the escalator repair by several weeks last month.
At the time, Cllr Emery said: “While any progress is welcome, the continued delays and lack of clear communication have understandably tested everyone’s patience.
“I know how frustrating and difficult this situation has been, especially for those with mobility issues.”
Transport bosses claimed that the delay in fixing the escalator was due to its “age and bespoke nature”.
They added this means replacement parts had to be “specifically designed and made”, which takes time.
Highgate is one of the deepest Tube stations in London, with the platforms sitting 37 metres below ground level.
