Police were called to West Wickham High Street 12.42am yesterday (March 13), after a man had in his 50s had been run over.
Paramedics treated him at the scene, who reportedly was suffering from a cardiac arrest after being hit.
He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
His family has been informed and they are currently being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the car, in his 30s, stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and for driving under the influence.
