Police were called to High Road between Hawthorn Road and Strode Road, yesterday (November 6) at 8.06pm to reports of an assault.
A man in his 40s was treated for injuries to his face – understood to specifically be his eye – and he was taken to hospital.
His condition has not been deemed life-changing or life-threatening.
According to the Metropolitan Police, it is alleged that the man was assaulted with the handle of the knife, rather than him being stabbed.
No arrests have been made but enquires are ongoing.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We treated a patient for an eye injury and took them to a major trauma centre.”
