At least two police cars and six London Ambulance Service vehicles have been spotted on the busy road, near the Sainsbury’s Local, today (April 23) in the afternoon.
Medics were called to the scene at 12.46pm to reports of a person unwell.
The patient has been pronounced dead at the scene.
The outside of the Sainsbury’s has been taped up by police.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.46pm today (23 April) to reports of a person unwell on High Road, Ilford.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a clinical team manager, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.
“Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a patient was pronounced dead at the scene.”
