The vehicle went up in flames outside Terminal 5 shortly before 8am this morning (January 21).
No one was injured in the incident, the London Fire Brigade confirmed in a statement.
Flights have not been affected, and the airport is operating as normal.
A spokesperson for Heathrow confirmed that there was a vehicle fire this morning which has now been extinguished.
It said: “Earlier this morning our teams responded to a vehicle fire on the Terminal 5 Departures forecourt.
“The fire was extinguished quickly and there were no injuries. The airport is now operating as usual”.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “We were called at 0756 hrs today to a report of a car alight near Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport.
“One fire engine attended the scene but the fire had already been safely extinguished by the airport’s fire service upon their arrival.
“There were no reports of any injuries.”
