Natalie Tarrant, head of the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) Charity, said: “This annual event is more than just a cricket match – it is a meaningful tribute to the memory of Dr C M Gopinath and a celebration of legacy, compassion, and community spirit.
“In total, the event raised £1,032 with all proceeds enhancing palliative care services at PAHT, making a real difference for patients nearing the end of their life, and their loved ones.
“We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who participated, contributed, or volunteered to make the day a great success.”
The day began with a mix of 20/20 and quick cricket, followed by an Indian lunch sponsored by The Rivers Hospital and a fundraising raffle and auction.
Dr Preethi Gopinath, director of medical education at PAHT and daughter of Dr Gopinath, said: “It is deeply moving to see so many people come together each year to honour my father’s memory.”
