The pedestrian and cycle zone, which serves both Redden Court School and Harold Wood Primary School, will be extended when the new term starts on Monday (January 5).
The area, which currently covers part of Coombe Road as far as its junction with Beltinge Road, will now include the entire length of Coombe Road up to Redden Court Road.
The zone’s hours of operation will remain unchanged, with cars not permitted in the area between 8.15am and 9am, or 2.30pm and 3.30pm, on weekdays during term time.
The change follows a consultation run by Havering Council in August to determine residents, parents and teachers’ views on extending the area covered.
This is one of 15 school street schemes currently running in Havering, which restrict motorised traffic during school drop-off and pick-up times.
