Clark – date of birth January 7, 1990 – previously found himself in court in 2023 after he sent sexual messages to two children.
He was then arrested again on March 28 this year by East Area officers who revealed he had been communicating with a child and had indecent child abuse images.
His devices were examined whilst he was in custody and one of the children in the images was revealed to be from Australia.
Adelaide Police were informed via Interpol and a previously unknown man was arrested locally.
That Australian man, aged 26, has now been charged with possessing child abuse material and six counts of transmitting that material – he will face a court in Australia.
Meanwhile, Clark was charged and appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court the day after his arrest.
He later pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child and possession of indecent images of children.
At Snaresbrook Crown Court he was jailed for one year and was given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Det Insp Gemma Cole, leading East Area’s Operation Jigsaw unit, said: “This was a fantastic piece of proactive work from my Operation Jigsaw officers.
“They not only ensured a registered sex offender was brought to justice and correctly monitored to protect the public, they also urgently acted to alert Australian Police to the further offences discovered on Clark’s device.
“This demonstrates the impact my team have had in protecting children not just locally but globally and I am immensely proud of them.”
