Trudy Spillane, executive principal of Drapers’ Maylands Primary School and Drapers’ Pyrgo Priory School, participated in the Pearson National Teaching Awards ceremony in London.
The annual event brought together teachers, lecturers, support staff, and institutions from across the UK.
The ceremony aimed to celebrate the impact educators have on young lives.
Earlier this year, Ms Spillane was announced as a silver award winner in the headteacher of the year in a primary school category.
Ms Spillane said: “It is a real honour to be included in an event which celebrates the dedication of teachers and leaders across the country.
“To have been awarded a place as one of the top six primary school leaders is very special to me, and the awards ceremony was just an incredible experience.”
The event, presented by broadcaster Gaby Roslin, highlighted inspiring stories from classrooms across the country and celebrated the dedication of those who enable children and young people to thrive.
Mary Palmer, chief executive of the Teaching Awards Trust, said: “Every educator deserves acknowledgement for the exceptional impact they have in both their classrooms and the wider community, every day.
“Our annual teaching awards offers the opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the incredible work of our educators, those who not only provide young people with knowledge, but also with values and life lessons that shape who they become.
“We congratulate all of this year’s winners.”
