Construction at Pytt Field has officially started, marking a key milestone in Harlow Council’s housing initiative.
Two of the houses will have two bedrooms, while the other three will have three bedrooms.
All will be allocated to residents on Harlow’s Housing Needs Register.
The development will also feature specially adapted homes for independent living, landscape surroundings, parking spaces, solar panels, and electric vehicle charging points.
It reflects the council’s sustainability aims.
This makes Pytt Field the ninth active construction site in Harlow.
This first phase of the council’s housebuilding programme will deliver more homes for Harlow families than have been built in the past 30 years combined.
Councillor Dan Swords, leader of Harlow Council, said: “The start of construction at Pytt Field is another clear sign that our housebuilding programme is gathering real momentum.
“These new homes in Pytt Field – especially those designed for independent living – reflect our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of Harlow residents.
“This is about more than bricks and mortar; it’s about investing in our communities and creating a better future for generations to come as we Build Harlow’s Future.”
