Harlow Council says its rapid enhancement action plan will improve the look of estates, starting with Longbanks on Monday (October 27).
Teams from HTS – a company set up by Harlow Council to provide environmental and property maintenance services – will carry out the work following a successful pilot in Milwards.
The first set of work will see the removal of litter and fly-tipping, grass cutting, hedge trimming, general cleaning, and the removal of old signs.
Street furniture will be fixed and cleaned, brickwork repaired, and bulky items left out by residents will be removed.
Residents will be given leaflets a week before the works are set to start to help them prepare.
Subject to weather conditions, this initiative will extend to other areas: Moorfield on November 3, Fennels on November 10, Altham Grove on November 17, Bishopsfield on November 24, Spring Hills on December 1, and Guilfords on December 8.
Councillor Nicky Purse, who is responsible for environment, said: “This is a fantastic example of how we are Building Harlow’s Future and delivering on our mission to renew our neighbourhoods.
“I’m delighted we’re taking this action and working closely with HTS and residents to make it happen.”
