The force has released figures showing the number of offences across the borough in the 12 months since February 2024.
A total of 30,242 crimes were recorded, with the two most common accounting for more than half of the total.
Top of the table with 8,670 reported incidents was theft, which includes pickpocketing and shoplifting, and which accounted for 28.67% of all reported crime in the borough.
Violence against the person was next with 7,813 logged reports – 25.83% of the total.
There were 3,877 vehicle offences logged – 12.82% of reported crime, followed by public order offences with 1,831 reported, 6.05% of crimes.
Records showed 1,773 cases of arson and criminal damage, accounting for 5.86% of all crimes that year.
Data revealed 1,637 drug offences were logged, representing 5.41% of all crimes.
A total of 1,453 robberies were recorded, 4.8% of total crimes.
Next came burglaries with 1,281 incidents, 4.24% of the total.
There were 939 sex offences across the borough, including rape, harassment, malicious communication, stalking, strangulation, making threats to kill and breach of a sexual notification orders. These accounted for 3.1% of crimes.
Scotland Yard took possession of 178 weapons and there were 285 “miscellaneous crimes” which could include engaging in activities which suggest the intent to commit a crime, such as unlawfully entering a house, or possessing picklock keys.
There were also five cases of fraud and forgery.

“There is no place for violence or the threat of violence in public or in people’s homes. Violence against women and girls is a particular area of focus, and it is vital that victims of domestic violence and harassment seek support and report criminal offences to police.”
