They have learned hospitality skills ready for the jobs market in the catering trade by making, cooking and serving pizzas, learning about food preparation and customer service.
The course was organised by Haringey Youth Justice service in partnership with the bakery in Green Lanes.
Foundation courses like this are seen by Haringey Council as “crucial for moving young people into jobs”, helping them to shape their own futures.
“This programme gives young people skills and confidence,” Cllr Zena Brabazon said. “But it takes a team effort to ensure the next generation is equipped to thrive.”
Working with local businesses like Dusty Knuckle bakery provides youngsters with ‘hands on’ experience to help nurture ambition and practical knowledge of the workplace.
The youth service was praised earlier this year by HM Inspectorate of Probation for its creativity like the Dusty Knuckle programme.
