Police were called to a disturbance in Claxton Grove around 11.20pm yesterday (June 11).
Officers arrived to find paramedics treating two men for gunshot wounds.
Both were taken to hospital where it was confirmed that a 30-year-old man has “life-threatening injuries”.
The second man, also in his 30s, sustained minor injuries.
A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
Claxton Grove remains closed by a crime scene as an investigation continues.
It is understood that this was an isolated incident and police are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A 28-year-old man remains in police custody after he was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in Hammersmith.
“Police were called to a disturbance in Claxton Grove, W6 at 23:19hrs on Wednesday, 11 June.
“Upon arrival, the London Ambulance Service were treating two men for gunshot wounds.
“Both were taken to hospital where it was confirmed that a 30-year-old man has life-threatening injuries.
“The second victim, also in his 30s, was treated for minor injuries.
