The Metropolitan Police were called at 8.58pm on November 16 with reports of a shooting on Hadwicke Street.
Officers were dispatched to the scene and two people were found injured.
The victims, both 16-year-old boys, were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.
One of the boys is believed to have suffered life-changing injuries.
There have been no arrests at this stage.
A Met spokesperson said: “Police were called at 20:58hrs on Sunday, 16 November to reports of a shooting on Hardwicke Street, Barking.
“Two 16-year-old boys were found to have gunshot injuries.

“Both of them were taken to hospital and their conditions are not believed to be life-threatening, but one of the boys is believed to have life-changing injuries.”
