The incident happened at the park in Grove Road just before 6.50am today (April 29).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.
He was pronounced dead shortly after.
The man’s next-of-kin have been informed.
His death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 06:49hrs on Tuesday, 29 April to reports of an unresponsive man in Victoria Park, E9.
“Officers and Emergency Services attended and gave medical assistance to the man in his 50s.
“Sadly, despite their best efforts he was later pronounced dead at hospital.
“The man’s next-of-kin have been informed.
“His death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
