Greenwich’s Vintners Lanes named best bowling alley in world

Vintners Lanes was recognised for its “stunning interior” at the 40th Annual Bowling Centre Architecture and Design Awards.

The awards, held in Texas, USA, celebrate bowling centres worldwide for their design and style.

Vintners Lanes was the only UK-based alley to win a prize.

The venue opened on November 15, 2024, and is on the upper floor of a historic building.

It features an atmospheric bar and lounge, combining the building’s heritage with modern design.

A vintage reception desk and branded aprons makes for the perfect welcome (Image: Vintners Lanes) The building, dating back to the 1850s, is a significant site for Davy’s, one of London’s oldest wine merchants.

Branding and interior design specialists DesignLSM took inspiration from the original brickwork, concrete features, and historical detailing, combining these with atmospheric lighting.

Vintners Lanes preserves the rich heritage of its surroundings with an industrial-chic aesthetic, complemented by original period furniture, playful Victoriana artwork, and vintage bowling memorabilia.

Bowlers can choose from a game or two, unlimited play, or food and drink bundles.
