The planning applications come amid concerns over an “upward surge” in family homes being converted into HMOs in the borough.
As of the July 23 this year, there were 811 licensed HMOs in the borough.
Neighbours in Eltham and Shooters Hill have told the News Shopper that they are worried about the conversions and want the local authority to introduce stricter rules.
Last week, Greenwich Council committed to reviewing its HMO policy as part of a new local plan, a document which will provide a blueprint for planning decisions in the borough over the next 15 years.
Councillors backed a motion that would require the local plan to “strengthen protections on HMOs and minimise the further loss of family homes”.
They also asked that an “oversaturation” planning policy be introduced to prevent new HMOs in highly-concentrated areas of the borough.
In total, 17 planning applications were submitted to the local authority in July asking to change existing homes into HMOs.
These included proposals for HMOs with up to eight bedrooms, as well as two separate applications for the same property in Montbelle Road, Eltham.
Last month, the council also approved five new HMOs in the borough and confirmed that three existing HMOs were lawful.
Plans for three new HMOs were refused over the same time period, while one existing shared home was declared not to be lawful.
One HMO planning application was withdrawn by the owner in July.
Here is a full list of the Greenwich HMO planning applications submitted, approved, refused and withdrawn in July.
