The incident happened in Goswell Road at around 3.35pm yesterday (January 12).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended, however, the man was pronounced dead shortly after.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Four hours after at 7.45pm nearby in Hall Street, police were called to reports of a person fallen from a height.
A woman in her 30s was found injured, however, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her death is also not being treated as suspicious.
Police say there is no evidence to show that these two incidents are linked.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at about 15:35hrs on Sunday, 12 January to reports of a person fallen from height on Goswell Road, EC1.
Emergency services attended. Despite the efforts of paramedics, a man – aged in his early 40s – died at the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
