Plans were submitted for the installation of an extraction flue and three air condenser units to the rear of 46 South Street which was formerly home to The Body Shop.
Planning documents were not submitted directly by German Doner Kebab but an equipment specification document produced by Springfield Group addresses the unit as belonging to the international takeaway chain.
Agent RR Planning also submitted a supporting statement which said: “We act as planning consultants to N.P Josan Romford Ltd t/a GDK who wish to operate a new Class E restaurant use from the above premises.”

The extraction and odour control system must be installed and operated in full accordance of the details approved by the council and the system must be maintained in “good working order and retained for the lifetime” of the unit under GDK.
No cooking will be allowed to take place until the extraction and odour control system is installed in order to “protect the amenity of occupiers of nearby premises”.
The new extractor system is also required to be coloured black to match the existing exterior features of the building.

An “acoustic barrier” is also required to be installed to limit noise coming from the compressor units.
The council ordered for the development to be completed within three years of the approval.
