Photos show the flyover construction site this morning (November 11) after the latest stretch of road was installed last week.
The drone images captured a significant number of work vehicles at the base of the flyover and on the roundabout.
A JCB digger can be seen removing dirt from the ground, which may be linked to Essex & Suffolk Water’s plan to conduct its water works outwards from the roundabout.

What appears to be a large section of tubing lays nearby.
On the A127 ground work is continuing, with large piles of dirt visible in Eastern Avenue East close to the flyover.
It comes after Transport for London (TfL) faced mounting pressure in recent weeks to reveal when the months-long replacement would complete, having long passed the original expected end date.

TfL confirmed in a public statement that it now “intends to complete works at Gallows Corner flyover by spring 2026”.
According to the Met Office, spring in the UK falls between the months of March to May.
Initially the flyover replacement was only estimated to necessitate the full closure of Gallows Corner between July 23 and late September, but works have been riddled with “unforeseeable problems”.

TfL now plans to carry out the works across three phases, with phases one and two designated for the flyover completion and the installation of a water main by Essex & Suffolk Water.

Final water main works and highway improvements to the A127 have been separated out as phase three, after which the full reopening of the junction will follow in later weeks.
TfL previously told this paper it was “exploring options to make it easier for drivers and buses to move through the area, and support local businesses”, though it is unclear at this stage whether anything will come of this.
We have contacted it for a comment.
