Two segments of the new flyover are noticeably absent from the current progress, as the completion date for the project has been extended into 2026.
The gaps were captured by a drone this morning (November 16), appearing at different intervals along the road.
The parts that have been removed lie closest to Eastern Avenue East, which form some of the earliest pieces of the new flyover to have been installed by TfL since the closure of the key road more four months ago.

TfL’s reconstruction of the flyover started from this side of the roundabout, stretching over to the A127 where the remainder of the road will be erected.
The reason for the removal of these pieces is unclear at this stage.
Gallows Corner has been fully closed since June 23, and was originally planned to remain shut to traffic until late September.

However, the timeline has been extended by between six and eight months until “spring 2026”.

Scott Haxton, TfL’s director of capital delivery, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to residents and businesses for their continued patience while we carry out these essential works at Gallows Corner.

“We understand how disruptive this has been, and we’re working with our partners to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.”
The remaining works will be carried out over three phases, including the water works that Essex & Suffolk Water has been undertaking.
